This is a generous, rounded, rich expression of Riesling - dry, yet gentle and creamy in texture. The aromas are complex, with honeycomb, beeswax and vanilla bean alongside fruit tree blossom, passion fruit and pineapple. In the mouth, it is full and rich, with layers of texture, beautiful filigree structure and a fine, long finish. The Mandelpfad (Almond Path) Grosses Gewächs (Grand Cru) is from the a select portion known as 'Himmelsrech' (Heaven) of a particularly warm, sheltered vineyard site.

Winemaking
The grapes are de-stemmed, crushed and pneumatically pressed. The wine is fermented in stainless steel tanks for 30 days at a temperature of 19 degrees C. The wine is then bottled after a further 7 months in a mixture of stainless steel and 600L traditional Halbstück barrels.

True elegance and finesse
This is my favourite Knipser Riesling, and one of my all-round favourite Rieslings. Nice and dry, with complex aromas and beautiful chalky minerality.
