Every bit as impressive as seriously swanky white Burgundy, this has a peach, pear, pineapple and papaya personality, with complex hints of creamy lees, toasty barrel and gunflint. On the palate, it has plenty of flavour concentration and complexity, with richness of texture and bright, balancing acidity. This can be enjoyed now and over the next seven years at least - maybe longer. Kudos to Knipser for giving Pinot Blanc (Weissburgunder) the chance to shine in a Grand Cru (Grosses Gewächs) vineyard site.

Press Review
" With its depth and concentration, this wine gives a serious Pfalz flex to Pinot Blanc. Notes of toast, caramel and ripe melon weave themselves into a dense, tense powerhouse. Citrusy flashes of zesty grapefruit emerge on the palate like stars in the night sky. Then the barrique-based grip pulls taut the full-bodied fruit, all the way through to the heady finish. Drink 2022-2028. "
