"Aged on the lees for four years in the bottle, Hattingly Valley's Classic Reserve layers mellow sophistication upon the inherently vibrant fruit conferred by England's growing conditions. The bubbles form a classically fine 'mousse', and the aromas and flavours evoke bright lemon, hedgerow blossom and baked apple, with toasted brioche and slivered almonds. It has marvellously fine texture and a lovely finish. This is a Champagne-style blend: the largest component being Chardonnay, followed by Pinots Noir and Meunier."

This is a fabulous example of the care, attention and passion that goes into some of the more affordable wines of Bordeaux. White grape varieties go on clay-limestone soils, while reds are on well-drained gravel plots to ensure consistent ripening and flavour concentration. "

This is a bigger, more velvety wine than the regular Mascota Malbec, and you can tell that it has been aged in French oak from its subtlety and beautiful integration of fruit and wood character.
