The aroma is filled with spice and smoke, backed by pronounced juniper. To taste the earthy spice, toasted oak and waxy pine continue, but caramelised watermelon and sweet citrus builds. Smoked citrus, spices and fruit linger on the finish.

Process

Watermelon is coated with a blend of six spices and roasted over an open flame. It's infused into SeaDog Navy Strength Gin, filtered and blended with more juicy caramelised watermelon, botanical distillates and other extracts.

People

Southwestern Distillery launched in 2013, with eponymous distiller Tarquin Leadbetter distilling, bottling, wax dipping and delivering his gins all over Cornwall. This is a limited edition gin made in collaboration with Spirits Beacon.

Made on a farm in Wadebridge, Cornwall, Southwestern Distillery is a producer that places its home county on a pedestal, with hand-foraged Cornish botanicals and curious coastal ingredients incorporated into everything in their range.
