Owner Matt Swinney and winemaker Rob Mann's ambition here is to produce a Bandol-inspired wine that displays the splendid qualities of the Mourvèdre grape. This has fabulous, complex, savoury meat-stock richness lent grace by a lovely, lilting floral lift. There is masses going on in the mouth: weighty, chewy and terrifically textured. There are layers of tannins upon tannins and yet they are never obtrusive, but instead comforting and velvety. You can enjoy this immediately (decanting recommended), or it will keep for many years.

Winemaking
The fruit was hand-picked and gravity fed to two upright French oak demi muids. We incorporated 100% whole bunches followed by wild fermentation to build structure and texture while promoting the bright and spicy aromatics. The wine spent 11 days on skins, including late foot stomping, prior to pressing directly to a single 600L four- year-old French oak demi muid, followed by aging for 11 months prior to bottling. The wine was made with minimum effective Sulphites, it is unfined and minimally filtered.
