This lovely wine is an Argentine twist on Cru Classé white Bordeaux. Sémillon and barrel-matured Sauvignon Blanc make up the majority of the cuvée, but the Muscadelle of Bordeaux is replaced by masterfully-crafted Torrontés - Susana Balbo is the 'Queen of Torrontés', after all. The result is superb. Bright and aromatic, with expressive notes of lemongrass, melon and pink grapefruit, it has great freshness, and layers of texture and complexity. Honeysuckle and tea rose notes combine with hints of bergamot, freshly-cut grass, white peach, orange and vanilla. The palate texture is lively and tense, yet satisfyingly rich and complete, and the alcohol level is refreshingly modest. What a wine! This is drinking beautifully already, and it also has the potential to develop with age.

Sauvignon Blanc & Semillón: Destemmed, macerated with dry ice 4 hrs, pressed, fined 36 hrs. Semillón in concrete eggs, Sauvignon Blanc in barrels, natural yeast fermentation. Torrontés: Destemmed, no press maceration, selected yeasts, barrel fermented. Aged on lees 2 months, blended, oak aged 4 more.

95/100 - Precision, vividness and poise define this child of a cold vintage. The Sémillon that dominates the blend builds a strong core of Asian pear, peach and blanched almonds, cloaked in crisp green apple, gooseberry and lime. Chamomile and linden hover harmoniously, adding fragrant lift as well as depth. Pleasant roundness on the mid-palate, offset by the mineral, chiseled finish.

94/100 - Blending 38% Semillon, 34% Sauvignon Blanc, and 28% Torrontes, the 2022 White Blend Brioso Signature is delightfully complex and refreshing, coming from sites in the Paraje Altamira. The Semillon was aged in concrete, while the Sauvignon Blanc enjoyed five months in French oak barrels, 60% of them new. The Torrontes also saw time in oak. Textured, the wine is floral and citrus-driven, with lovely minerality woven throughout. Drink now and through 2030.
