Left-Field delivers generous dried apples and apricots upfront. There's a maple syrup-like sweetness alongside tropical fruit notes, before baking spice and vanilla flourish on the finish. Fantastic all rounder perfect for all kinds of cocktails.
Process
Left-Field is a single malt Australian whisky, matured in Australian red wine French oak barrels. Some were filled wet, others re-charred before maturation.
People
Founded by Melburnian David Vitale, whose passion for all things food and flavour is partly from having grown up in a big Italian family. Under the guidance of whisky godfather Bill Lark, he helped kickstart the Australian single malt movement.
Place
The barrels used are from the Barossa and Yarra Valley, holding red wines including Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon and Pinot Noir. The result is a flavourful but easy-drinking whisky that talks to the place it is made.
