Golden yellow with greenish hue. On the nose this wonderful wine comes is layered and delicious, with citrus fruit flavours, chestnut, honey and a spicy complexity. As good as top Cru white Burgundy, at half the price.

After destalking, soft pressing and static sedimentation at a low temperature, fermentation in barrique at 18⁰C, maturation of 11 months with bâtonnage carried out every 10 days Maturation: in Allier oak barriques of 225 litres, 50% new and 50% 2nd and 3rd use.

94/100 - The organic Planeta 2023 Sicilia Menfi Chardonnay is a creamy and rich interpretation with sweet almond, apricot and Sicilian candied fruit. The wine delivers beautiful intensity over a thickly layered, full-bodied mouthfeel. Fruit comes from the Ulmo vineyard (positioned at 250 meters above sea level) and Maroccoli (at 415 meters in elevation). The wine is aged in Allier French barrique with 40% new oak, 30% second-use and 30% third-use barrel for 11 months.
