This single-vineyard Tokaji Aszú 6 Puttonyos has an astonishing fragrance, evoking baked peaches, dried apricots, beeswax, violin rosin, lemon-and-honey, exotic spice and antique wooden furniture. The combination of Tokaji's natural acidity with nearly a quarter-century's bottle age has integrated the sweetness, making for an overall impression of remarkable freshness and beautiful harmony. It tastes of lime marmalade and Seville oranges, followed by more baked peaches and dried apricots. This is fully ready to enjoy now, and promises to drink beautifully for another 20+ years. The Bendecz vineyard's mineral-rich soil is volcanic in origin, and the ground is planted to 70% Furmint vines, and 30% Hárslevelű.

Winemaking
Botrytis-affected Aszú berries were selected from the Bendecz vineyard and macerated in a base wine, as per the usual Tokaji Aszú method. Fermentation and maturation happened 100% in 220-litre Hungarian oak barrels. It was matured for 2.5 years before bottling in June 2003.
