Key Flavours
Serve
Old Forester Classic is unchanged since its creation - a full-bodied rye rich, full of flavour and smooth on the finish. Best served neat or with a splash of water.
Process
Old Forester is made from a mash of corn, rye and malted barley. Grains are milled and mashed, then fermented with a yeast strain grown at the distillery. Following this the grains are twice distilled and then matured in new American oak casks.
People
Created by George Garvin Brown, Old Forester is named after Dr. William Forrester. George used to seal his whiskey in glass bottles and signed each bottle to ensure authenticity and quality.
Place
The Old Forester distillery is located in Louisville Kentucky. After founding J.T.S. Brown & Bro. Distillery, George used to guarantee consistency by blending his bourbon from three nearby distilleries: Mattingly, Mellwood, and Atherton.
