Meet the icon - Susana Balbo

Founded in 1999 by Susana Balbo, Argentina’s first female winemaker known locally as “The Queen of Torrontés,” Susana Balbo winery, in Agrelo, at the foothills of the Andes Mountains, produces wines of superb quality including Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon and - of course - Torrontés. Susana Balbo's wines have garnered international acclaim, and won multiple awards such as the Argentine Wine of the Year accolade from James Suckling, and in 2022, Susana was honoured with the IWC Lifetime Achievement Award. After years of growth, Susana's children, José and Ana, joined the business, working alongside their mother and head winemaker Edgardo Del Pópolo to continue the family legacy.
