Elderflower, citrus and crunchy mange-tout pea pod notes are supported by vibrant and rich-textured midpalate, making this a perfect stand-alone wine, or accompaniment for food. As it ages, deeper mineral and flinty flavours are expressed. La Berry is made almost entirely from Sauvignon Blanc from Meinert's vineyards in the cool-climate Elgin region, with added texture from a touch of Semillon and old vine Chenin Blanc. To promote complexity, fruit is either whole-bunch pressed, macerated on skins for 24 hours or crushed and immediately pressed before being re-combined.

Minimal intervention in the cellar allows the purest expression of Meinert's terroir, utilizing an array of vinification techiques that are cultivar dependent - skin contact on Sauvignon; whole-bunch pressing and barrel fermentation in seasoned oak barrels for Semillon, and Chenin Blanc getting the true Meinert touch as many have come to know over the years.
