The Orange region's extreme high altitude produces a vibrant, tense style of Chardonnay, which rewards being given time to open up in the glass. It reveals a thrilling contrast between vivid lime and tangy peach aromas, followed by richer oatmeal, spicy-savoury notes and a green scent reminiscent of whacked nettles. It is crisp, zippy and refreshing, while complex also. Lean and linear in overall style, its richness and flavour nuances build over time. It's drinking well already, and its development after opening suggests that it could also benefit from further ageing.

Winemaking
The vineyard is at an elevation of around 900m, and harvest takes place at night to retain as much fruit character as possible. Grapes are pressed as soon as they arrive at the winery and fermentation is with indigenous yeasts. Matured for seven months in a combination of 20% new and 80% seasoned oak.
