Key Flavours
Serve
A spirit inspired by a cucumber sandwich was always going to lead with the vegetable, but rose is also a loud presence in Hendrick’s Gin. While we prefer it with an orange peel, it would just feel wrong not to serve this with a cucumber garnish.
Process
Hendrick’s uses two still types – Pot stills which produce heavy, oily flavours and Carter Head stills, which produce lighter spirits through vapour infusion. The two spirits are blended after distillation with further essences added thereafter.
People
Hendrick’s Gin was created by William Grant and Sons in 1999. The brand saw a gap in the market and knew that the two people best placed to fill it were their Malt Master David Stewart and Distiller Leslie Gracie.
Place
William Grant is a hugely famous name in distilling, though it's certainly more known in the Whisky world. Still, they’ve aced the gin, with Hendrick’s and all its variations met with rapturous applause.
