" The best wines from the cool 2015 vintage are glorious and this is no exception. Unashamedly oaky, having been fermented and then aged for seven months in barrel, Hattingley’s top wine shows spiced white peach, toasted nut and a hint of struck match on the nose. In the mouth it’s elegant and rounded with a lively mousse and flavours of brioche and lemon curd. Still young and with such class. "
Winemaking
A very limited release, the Kings Cuvée is a premium blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. 100% barrel fermented and then aged for eight months in four to five year old oak barrels. After rigorous taste tests, only the top seven barrels were selected out of 180 available. Once bottled, the wine spent 30 months on lees before disgorging with 5g/L dosage, and a minimum of six months on cork before release.
