Though no additional sugar is added to Bloody Shiraz Gin, it still carries a splat of candy apple, joined by a rich, deep spice and a tart dryness from the grape skins. This is an amazing neat sipper, but if in a G&T, try Mediterranean Tonic.
Process
Four Pillars Bloody Shiraz Gin uses the distillery’s flagship gin at its core, but after distillation its added to a great vat with Shiraz grapes. The mixture rests for two months, allowing the grapes’ colour, sweetness and flavours to leech out.
People
Four Pillars Gin was created by wine making and marketing duo Stuart Gregor and Cameron Mackenzie, along with brand guru Matt Jones. The trio united over a core objective: to create Australia’s best craft spirits.
Place
Four Pillars is a craft distillery located in the heart of Australia’s Yarra Valley. When it launched in 2013 it as amongst the first of its kind, and continues to be a standard bearer for what Australian Gin could, can and should be.
