This cuvée of Tannat and Merlot is from vines grown where there is virtually no topsoil - being planted directly into low-fertility subsoil. Such extreme conditions result in small yields of intensely-concentrated berries, and the wine is packed with character: spiced cherry and blackberry fruit, with aromatic herbs and a touch of citrus. Deeply-flavoured on the palate, with lovely balance of tannins to freshness, and an elegant, harmonious impression overall.
