Familia Deicas
Led by three generations of the Deicas family and consultant winemaker, Paul Hobbs, crafting vibrant, terroir-driven wines from Uruguay's Atlantic coast.
Founded in 1979, Familia Deicas is a family-run winery spanning three generations, with four Deicas family members actively involved today. Winemaker Santiago Deicas leads the cellar, supported since 2010 by world-renowned consultant Paul Hobbs. Rooted in Uruguayan heritage and guided by international expertise, the estate balances family tradition with innovation, positioning itself at the forefront of South American fine wine.
Familia Deicas crafts a diverse range of wines from Bordeaux varieties alongside Uruguay’s signature grapes, Tannat and Albariño. Their vineyards stretch across various terroirs, with a particular focus on the Maldonado subregion of Garzón. Here, older vines and coastal influences contribute to naturally fresh, concentrated fruit. A commitment to site expression and minimal intervention results in wines of elegance, structure and age-worthiness, making the most of Uruguay’s distinctive growing conditions.
