Process
All El Dorado rums are made using molasses produced from 100% Demerara sugar. The Special Reserve is a blend made on the Coffey Stills, the Double Wooden Pot Still and the Single Wooden Pot Still, which have been aged for 15yrs.

Place
Demerara Distillers Limited operates the last remaining distillery in Guyana. They are based at Plantation Diamond on the East Bank of the Demerara River and have the last two remaining operational wooden stills in the world.

It's already half gone!
Since I enjoyed the El Dorado 12 year-old so much, my wife gave me a bottle of this for Christmas. I'm not a huge spirits drinker, but this has such a comforting warm, rounded embrace of flavour, that it's the perfect late-night toddy. It's slightly drier, more intense and 'grown up' than the 12, however still with Rum's irresistible ease.
