Serve
This has red wine fruitiness, with a dry herbal finish from the quinine. Great length from the tannins. Serve it 50 - 50 with Gin for a drink made famous by the late Queen Mother.
Process
A red wine base made up of multiple grape varieties (RubiRed, Rubicabernet and Merlot) is infused with botanicals including blackcurrant, black tea varietals and cinchona bark before being gently sweetened with cane sugar.
People
Dubonnet Rouge aperitif was invented in 1846 by Sir Joseph Dubonnet, a Parisian wine merchant and chemist. It became part of Pernod Ricard in 1976.
Place
Blending and bottling also takes place in Bordeaux and Lille in Pernod Ricard’s state of the art sites.

Dubbonet
This is an exquisite aperitif. There are subtle flavours and it is superb mixed with London dry gin. It was good enough for Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother and her daughter Queen Elizabeth II. It is therefore good enough for me!
