Domaine Brusset
On south-facing terraces overlooking Les Dentelles de Montmirail, Brusset farm some of the finest vineyards between Carianne and Gigondas in the Rhône.
Domaine Brusset is a family‑run estate founded in 1947 in Cairanne, southern Rhône. Three generations—André, Daniel, and now Laurent Brusset—have guided its development, with Laurent serving as the current owner‑winemaker. The Domaine covers around 70 hectares across five appellations, including Gigondas, Cairanne, Rasteau, Côtes‑du‑Rhône and Ventoux, producing wines known for their expressive, terroir‑driven character.
The estate employs traditional Rhône viticulture with a focus on low yields, manual harvesting, natural yeasts, and extensive soil work to preserve terroir expression. Brusset’s steep, terraced Gigondas vineyards in the Dentelles de Montmirail are particularly notable, and ageing regimes vary from concrete and demi‑muids to new oak depending on the cuvée. Precision, low‑intervention techniques and multi‑appellation expertise contribute to wines of depth, structure and ageing potential.
The domaine places strong emphasis on environmental stewardship, holding organic certification (FR‑BIO‑09) and implementing organic cover crops for more than fifteen years. It also maintains HVE3 certification, reflecting its dedication to biodiversity protection, reduced chemical use and responsible resource management. These efforts underpin the estate’s long‑standing philosophy of respecting its vineyards and terroirs for future generations.
