Gallardia Old Vine White
De Martino
Press Review
" This shows a lot of freshness for this grape variety, framing apricots, citrus and pink grapefruit with herb undertones. A taut palate, drawn out by edgy acidity, but still boasting a lot of concentration from the layers of stone fruit. Drink now. "
Press Review
" De Martino is always a reliable name for quality in Chile. The Gallardía Cinsault is good value, but this has real intrigue: a blend of 70% Muscat and 30% Corinto (aka Chasselas) from an vineyard planted in 1905. Aromatic, fresh and dry, it's full of mineral-edged stone fruit, gentle nutty tones and brisk acidity. "
Winemaking
Bunches are destemmed and the berries pressed. Spontaneous fermentation in used French oak barrels. The wine does a partial malolactic fermentation and is aged on its fine lees for 6 months prior to bottling.

Quality wine of character
A year on this wine still has more to give - the colour has taken on a touch of golden yellow, the fruit has taken on a subtle savoury complexity whilst still retaining a fresh core of acidity and the fruit still has a nice whisper of table grape and stone fruit. This is great value and very interesting right now.

Beautiful white from Chile
Perfect, but then I’m a big muscat fan! There is some natural subtle sweet fruit from the muscat grape but it’s completely dry on the finish - the palate is fresh, structured and well rounded with bags of depth, acidity and character from the old vines to keep your interest. Great with fish and spiced dishes.
