The Corymbia Chenin Blanc is Chablis-like at present, and just beginning to show promise of blossoming into gloriously complex, fragrant, honeyed maturity. Delicious already, and it's going to get even better. Corymbia is run by Rob and Genevieve Mann - Rob makes the stellar Swinney wines, and is one of the world's most highly-regarded winemakers. His CV includes restoring the fortunes of Cape Mentelle and Napa Valley's Newton Vineyards. Named after the Marri tree (Corymbia calophylla), that surrounds the vineyard, Corymbia's label represents the tree's blossom...but look carefully, and you will see that it also charts temperature and rainfall of the growing season, and so changes subtly with each year. Really cool, or really geeky, or perhaps a bit of both.

" Fruity nose with green-fruit notes – a bit like a cooking apple dipped in runny honey? Pretty firm on the end – recognisably related to a fine Montlouis or Vouvray. This should age pretty well – it's delightfully ambitious – but it will probably all be drunk long before it's really ready. A really distinguished dry wine for the long term. Drink 2022-2028. "

" Some attractive, flinty and stony notes here with lemons and sliced green apples, in a very fresh mode. The palate has a very fresh, sleek feel with beautifully crisp, fresh and elegantly pure resolve. "
Winemaking
The grapes were harvested by hand and whole bunch pressed prior to natural fermentation. A portion was matured in seasoned French oak barriques for 7 months prior to blending and bottling.
