Pessac-Léognan Blanc
Château Lamothe-Bouscaut
Press Review
" "High Sauvignon Blanc aromatics on the first nose, underlaid by a richer apricot and honeysuckle that come in from the Sémillon. This doesn't quite lift off, although there is attractive placing of slate minerality as it opens. Good-quality, with touches of succulent minerality. A yield of 42hl/ha, 40% new oak. Drink 2021-2032." "
Winemaking
Maceration for a period of three weeks with pumping over in temperature controlled stainless steel vats. Fermentation in french oak barrel with lees stirring. Ageing in oak barrels during 8 months on the lees.
Our Expert Food Recommendation
Grilled fish and salads.

Just had 2018 in Cote, Exeter. Wonderful. Tasting notes are on the nose.

Lamothe Bousquet 2018 Pessac Leognan
Rated by Janis Robinson in the FT Weekend as one of the top three reasonably priced Bordeaux Blancs in both 2018 and 2019 £120 a bottle at Scott’s Restaurant in Mount Street Mayfair London plus service charge, £51 at Cote Brasserie, £34 at other UK wine merchants. It is a really excellent Sauvignon Blanc/ Semillion fruity wine which I recommend.

Perfection
I tried this and the Ch. Valoux over the same weekend. This wine was streets ahead in terms of balance; this is exactly what I expect from a Sauv/Sem blend from Pessac-Leognan. A beautiful wine; will be ordering a case of 6.
