A blend of 66% Tempranillo, 30% old vine Garnacha and 4% Graciano. Cherry and cola aromas mingle with hints of chocolate and spicy. A dark, yet luminous crimson colour hints at the rich semi-savoury dark cherry and cola palate that nishes with a hint of grenache red cherry juiciness. The original Spanish spelling of Barrosa honours the original name given to our Barossa Valley by Colonel Light who fought in the 1811 battle.

Winemaking
Fermentation takes place in open fermenters with 7 days of maceration before pressing into barrels. A relatively higher pH is tolerated for the Tempranillo as we anticipate the natural acidity of the Grenache and Graciano will offset this in the ultimate blend. Barrels are mostly used French and American hogsheads (300L), where they mature separately for about 7 months only before bottling.
