This is the produce of four plots of vines aged 100+ years, which are vinified according to the ancestral techniques of the Dão region. It is a wine of character and body, as well as freshness and crispness. Aromas of herbs provide extra layers of flavour to the black fruit-packed palate, which is complex and deep with great length.

Press Review
" The 2017 O Fugitivo Vinhas Centenárias is a field blend from centenarian vines (grapes like Baga, Touriga Nacional, Alvarelhão, Jaen, Alfrocheiro and others) aged for 12 months in used French oak. It comes in at just 12.7% alcohol this year. What this lacks in depth, it makes up for in bold flavors and silky elegance. Beautifully constructed, with ripe tannins that don't much get in the way, this is pretty delicious. I'm less sure it has a high upside in the cellar, but many will be happy to forget that. You can dive in now, but it should also hold well. The freshness should at least preserve it. Drink 2022-2033. "
Winemaking
