Deep in colour, Il Blu is sheer class - expressing intense blueberry and black cherry fruit, balanced by a sumptuous oak character. It's powerful and concentrated on the palate, with plush, fine tannins and a lovely sense of freshness. It opens up beautifully with air, so after spending a bit of time in a decanter, there's nothing to prevent its being enjoyed now, although it could be cellared 10+ years if desired.

Winemaking
The temperature at fermentation is 28°C and must contact is for up to 18 days. Maturing is in two thirds new and one third used barriques for 18-20 months plus 24 months in the bottle before release.
