Process
Both hot infusion and / or cold extraction methods handed down through the centuries are used depending on the raw material. These methods, along with the recipe itself, constitute the secret to its flavour.
People
Antica Formula dates from the late 1780s and was rediscovered and recreated in 2001, when Count Niccolò Branca found a recipe for the vermouth, which he believes to be the original, or one of the original Benedetto Carpano recipes.
Place
Carpano is made in the Piedmont region of Italy, the base wines are sourced from Romagna, Puglia and Sicily.
