A legendary rum from a famed ghost distillery! John Barrett, owner of Bristol Spirits, purchased the remaining stocks of Caroni after the distillery closed, saving the barrels and transporting them back to the UK for further maturation. This highly regarded rum was distilled in 1998, aged in ex-bourbon casks, and began its maturation in the tropics before journeying to the UK and eventual bottling in 2002. Unadulterated and pure, this rum is a true expression of its origin and its vintage, and quite literally the last of its kind.
The nose brings classic Caroni aromas of wood spices and diesel, complemented on the palate by notes of dried fruit, treacle toffee, toasted oak, warm spices and dry oak that linger for a long finish.
