Biodynamics is a form of organic farming that emphasises the interrelationship of soil fertility and plant growth, drawing on Rudolf Steiner's theories that incorporates an astrological sowing and planting calendar.

This biodynamic, single-vineyard wine is Cabernet Sauvignon dominated, with a smaller proportion of Petite Sirah adding exciting spice notes: reflecting the role of Petit Verdot in the great wines of Bordeaux. It has a brilliant, deep red hue and opens with an appealing chorus of black currant, fig and dark chocolate aromas. Firm though fine tannins frame a generous mid-palate that leads to flavors of cassis, toast, portobello and subtle minerality. Suggestions of tobacco and anise harmonize on the lingering finish. Among the first biodynamic vineyards planted in the United States, McNab Ranch is the agricultural heart of Bonterra Organic Vineyards. Winemaking

Vineyard blocks and varieties were kept separate until the best lots were selected for this cuvee and blended together. Following fermentation in stainless steel, the wine was aged in 100% French oak barrels, 80% new, from a variety of coopers for 24 months.
