Spain's answer to Pinot Noir, this enthralling Garnacha has a delicate red hue, and yet is full of personality, with complexity and concentration. With classic red Burgundy aromas of ripe cherries, rosehips and earthy, leafy, 'woodland walk' nuances, and an alluringly fresh apricot character that is all of its own. In the mouth, it is succulent and voluptuous, with satin-textured tannins and a hauntingly long finish. This marvellous wine is drinking beautifully now and over the next 2-3 years at least.

Crafted in the way that Spanish wines were historically, before the French got involved in the 19th Century. Fermented from 50% destemmed fruit and 50% whole bunches. The wine is aged underground for 12 months in 4,500-litre clay jars called tinajas.

Brown sugar and strawberry jam combine with clove and wild herbs as well as a touch of tobacco leaf. Chalky tannins and bright acidity give energy and lift.
