Picking Rosés in February

Picking Rosés in February

It’s that time of year again when everywhere you look shop displays are cascading with inadequate gifts and a plethora of cards which, despite being many in number, offer few in choice. Here at Great Western Wine, we find it hard to imagine anything more romantic than Champagne or a special bottle, and on Valentine’s day, why not make it pink?

Champagne Prestige Rosé, Taittinger

We’ve partnered with our friends at the iconic Taittinger to offer this gorgeous bouquet of a Champagne for £29.70 a bottle as part of a dozen bottle order, or £33 per bottle on its own, (normally £47.50 a bottle).

With fresh aromas of wild strawberries and spice preceding balanced, smooth flavours of red fruits, this rosé displays charm and a subtle harmony of flavours.

Scoring it at 92/100, William Kelley at The Wine Advocate said Taittinger’s Champagne Prestige Rosé “offers up attractive aromas of raspberry, rose-hip and blood orange… this is admirable rosé that I can’t recommend highly enough!”

Offer price runs to and including Sunday 16th February.

Brut di Pinot Nero Rosé VS, Ruggeri

For the lovers of all things Italian, this sparkling from Veneto-based producer Ruggeri has a delightful rose petal hue. Medium bodied and dry, the nose is fresh, fragrant and inviting, offering light red fruit aromas and hints of biscuity yeast, with an enticing array of bubbles.

The perfect apéritif before that Valentine’s day dinner.

Rosé Sainte Marie, Salcombe Gin

For the gin brigade this pink number offers a delightfully rose-tinted spirit in a gorgeous deco-inspired bottle. Perfect paired with a premium mixer, decadently splashed in a cocktail, or simply sipped.

Distilled in Devon, ‘Rosé Sainte Marie’ is bright, fresh and delicate with aromas or freshly peeled lemons and a hint of red fruit, followed by the subtle perfume of white flowers and orange blossom. Lavender, rose petals and cracked white pepper offer subtle finesse while traditional juniper adds structure.

Wild Rosé Vermouth, Regal Rouge

Beautifully packaged in an appealingly tall bottle and twist of paper, Regal Rouge’s luxurious Wild Rosé Vermouth is led by tropical fruit and spice notes, marrying a pale and dry Barossa Shiraz Rosé from the Adelaide Hills with native Illawarra plums, rosella and strawberry gum alongside rhubarb and kina.

We love that this vermouth can be drunk with anything, anytime, with anyone, whether it’s as an apéritif, a digestif, or paired with food. As the months start to get a little warmer, we also can’t wait to sip this in the sunshine!
