The wine has a deep, almost opaque red colour and a nose of violets, cassis and black cherries. On the palate the Xisto is remarkably elegant with a classic balance of fine ripe tannins and intense mouth filling fruit. Although delicious now, Xisto will age well for the next 10 to 15 years.

Winemaking
The winemaking is undeniably French in its inspiration, with higher fermentation temperatures to maximise extraction, and exclusive use of French oak barriques in which the wine is aged for 20 months. The wine combines the unique spicy character of the Douro with the finesse of a Cru Classé Bordeaux – a truly sublime combination.
