A wine of true pedigree, this displays beautifully refined and complex aromas of beeswax, honey, white peach, frankincense and honeysuckle. The aromas may suggest sweetness, but the palate is as dry and stony as the hillside on which the grapes are... Read more2020 12.5% ABV 75cl

One of the Mosel's steepest vineyards, Wehlener Sonnenuhr ('Sundial') has almost no topsoil - the ground is instead covered by shards of pure blue slate, from which Riesling vines eke out a living, perched precariously above the river below. The... Read more2022 7.5% ABV 75cl

Peach, mandarin orange, marmalade notes. Absolutely dry and yet soft and winsome, pineapple fruit on the palate - generous in flavour while nervy and lean in texture. The long finish is already showing the beginnings of complexity, and this should grow... Read more2024 12.5% ABV 75cl

German Whites
At last Germany has banished its albatross. Liebfraumilch, the dirty blip in Germany's illustrious winemaking career, has had its day. A fleet of young, innovative German winemakers have spent the last 20 years re-polishing Germany's crown and have restored the country to its former winemaking glory. And their secret weapon - Riesling. Adored for its versatility and vibrant acidity. Germany has a Riesling to suit all taste buds. Look to the grey slate soils of the vineyards of the Mosel Valley for a dramatic contrast between refreshing mineral wines and an explosion of fruit blossom and honey aromas; turn your attention to Pfalz for drier, stylish and complex wines. Pfalz also offers some fascinating Pinot Gris and Pinot Blanc varieties which we are happy to introduce to our list this Spring.
