The first ever Burgundy-inspired, dry (secco) Valpolicella, originally launched in 1860. Deep ruby, with aromas of redcurrant, blackberry and cocoa, layered with black pepper, clove and nutmeg. The palate is rich yet vibrant, revealing sour cherry, black tea and concentrated dark fruit, supported by fine powdery tannins and a long coffee bean finish. Aged in chestnut and cherry wood barrels (no oak), this is composed mostly of Corvina, with a secret ingredient, the Carmenere grape, which is historically important in the region (although unofficially recognised).

Winemaking
Each variety is harvested separately at optimum ripeness and fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. Gentle extraction preserves fruit purity while building structure and complexity. The individual wines are then carefully blended and matured before bottling, creating a balanced, elegant and harmonious final wine.
