This is a great, intense Riesling Grand Cru with excellent ageing potential, from Alsace's most renowned producer of wines from this noble grape. Don't be fooled by its apparently easygoing first impression - this is from an outstanding, superbly-situated Grand Cru site, and has serious concention and the capacity to keep for many years. With time, its youthful honeysuckle and peach aromas will give way to deeper, richer beeswax, black truffle, honey and crushed rock character, while maintaining superb freshness and vibrancy. Winemaking
Our grapes are selected at maturity then crushed and delicately pressed in a pneumatic press. Vinified in a dry style in stainless steel vats. No malolactic fermentation, or long ageing on lees in order to preserve freshness, liveliness and fruity aromas. Bottled in spring, then 7 years of ageing minimum in the cellar.

95/100 - The 2018 Geisberg Riesling is deep, very intense and aromatic on the nose that represents the very dry and warm vintage. Full-bodied, rich and very powerful on the palate, this is a massive and muscular, luckily also saline-finishing Riesling that is still a bit edgy and will still need years to refine and gain in finesse. It is doubtlessly a complex and potential wine. Drink 2030-2060.
