Inky black in colour, the Sutherland Syrah is a WOW wine. Impressively intense and vibrant notes of blueberry, blackberry, white pepper and woodsmoke leap from the glass. On the palate, it is complete and balanced, with perfectly-proportioned juicy black fruit, liquorice, a smidgin of oak and great persistence on the finish. Really, REALLY delicious, this is an outstanding Syrah.

Winemaking
Pure Syrah, from vines grown on Tukulu and Bokkeveld Shale soils. Fermented 100% in stainless steel, with twice-daily punchdowns, after pressing, racked into barrels for malolactic conversion and 18 months' maturation. 10% new French oak; the remainder is older barrels.
