There's an intense aroma of ripe berries. The nose has notably fuller jam notes than the sister brand Origin. To taste, Stawbar Platinum continues the strawberry medley along with a peppery finish. Not to be confused with a liqueur.
Process
Strawbar is produced from single-origin strawberries sourced in Greece, that are gently pressed, the pulp is fermented and strained before being double distilled in copper column stills to create a clear, clean spirit.
People
Stawbar is made by the Phi Group, a young team who established the company in 2018 to distil unique new spirits from local fruits and introduce bold, clean flavours to the bar, spirit and mixology world in limited edition quantities.
Place
The distillate is made from an overlooked strain of nutrient rich strawberries that specifically grow in the north west region of Greece. Flavour aside, they wanted to use them in order to promote the local produce while helping the rural economy.
