Process
Rum is distilled in the U.S. Virgin Islands is flavoured with vanilla, lime and five spices and is claimed to be based on an original recipe by the famous tattoo artist Norman 'Sailor Jerry' Collins who died in 1973.
People
In 1999, Ed Hardy and Mike Malone partnered with Steven Grasse to establish Sailor Jerry Ltd based on Collins' letters, art, and flash (tattoos). It is now owned by William Grant & Sons.
Place
Consider this rum more of an homage to a place and a person than a faithful re-creation. The man, Norman Collins was a free-spirited individual based in Hawaii. The rum reflects that heritage and brings together his work.
