Pizzini Wines
Family-owned winery in King Valley, Victoria, started by Alfredo and Katrina Pizzini who planted Italian varieties Verduzzo, Lambrusco, Nebbiolo, and Sangiovese.
Pizzini Wines is a warm and welcoming family‑run winery in Victoria’s picturesque King Valley, where Italian heritage and Australian landscape blend beautifully. Founded by Alfredo and Katrina Pizzini—who planted their first vines back in 1978—the business grew into its own label by 1994 and now includes their four adult children, Natalie, Joel, Carlo and Nicole, all working together across the winery and its experiences. Winemaking is led by Joel Pizzini, whose deep connection to the vineyards, creativity and hands‑on approach have helped shape the distinctive character and high quality of the wines.
Pizzini Wines has long championed Italian grape varieties in Australia, becoming an early pioneer of Nebbiolo in the 1980s and continuing to craft expressive wines from Sangiovese, Verduzzo and Pinot Grigio. Joel’s winemaking approach is grounded in understanding each vineyard at a deep level—digging soil pits, mapping individual blocks and allowing the land itself to guide the style of each wine. This thoughtful, terroir‑focused philosophy, combined with the King Valley’s cool climate, diverse elevations and well‑drained soils, helps the winery produce wines that feel both authentically Italian and uniquely Australian.
