This rich, full-bodied and deep-flavoured red has sumptuous, super-smooth texture, and damson and bramble fruit flavours. It displays hints of peppery spiciness, alongside a concentrated intensity reminiscent of dried figs and marmalade. It's a big wine, but superbly well-balanced. Mavrotragano is a variety that is indigenous to the island of Santorini. It was close to extinction at the turn of the milennium, when Paris Sigalas planted a small vineyard near the highest point of the island.
