Mâcon Rouge is a relative rarity, since well over 90% of the region's production is of white wine. Like the adjoining Beaujolais, this is made from the Gamay grape, and it's an absolutely classic example of the variety, with leafy redcurrant and elderberry aromas, and an abundance of strawberry and red cherry fruit on the juicy, light-bodied palate. Super-soft in texture, this is approachable and very enjoyable easy-drinking red.
