It is with good reason that the Les Mougeottes ines are among our most popular and best selling bottles.
Named for the iconic cast brass mailboxes that have graced the routes of France since the 19th Century, the Les Mougeottes wines are produced from select vineyards across Languedoc-Rousillon – spanning from the Mediterranean coast to the Pyrenees. Across this broad region and fertile region, winemaker Xavier Roger and his team select the most appropriate vineyards and fruit to produce some truly superb wines.
"If you love white Burgundy and are looking for something delicious and much less expensive then this is just the wine for you. Les Mougeottes Chardonnay is one of the best impersonations of white Burgundy that we have ever seen, and it's a fraction of the price! Pineapple and peach aromas marry with gentle, buttery notes. Dry yet rounded on the palate with texture, richness and finesse that gives it charm and completeness."
"With lovely, summery notes of elderflower, pink grapefruit and orange blossom, this is a very appealing Gascony white. Sauvignon Blanc makes it reassuringly recognisable, while the authentic south-west French varieties, Colombard and Gros Manseng provide a distinctive sense of place, as well as rounding out the texture of the wine. In all, fresh and vibrant while satisfyingly complete and balanced."
"This wine displays a pale Provencal pink hue with raspberry and strawberry notes on the nose hinting at a light touch of blossom. Refreshing on the palate displaying ripe red berry and peach flavours. This is an elegant Rosé with refreshing acidity. "
"Les Mougeottes Pinot Noir has a lovely nose of ripe red cherries and berries, with a classic French savoury / charcuterie character. Rounded and soft-textured, with gentle tannins and fresh acidity, this very drinkable wine is an easy choice for sipping with or without food year-round. It can even be enjoyed lightly chilled on warm days for maximum refreshment. "
"This wine displays a deep ruby hue with aromas of ripe plum, blackberry and a touch of floral violet. A rich palate of blackberry fruit with a spicy smokiness. The wine is well balanced with good structure and length."
"A spicy and warm cabernet, with hints of coffee and plenty of ripe dark fruit. On the palate it is full-bodied firm and soft tannins, blackurrant fruit, and subtle vanillin flavours of new oak. "
