Jim Beam have used the same strain of yeast since 1933, it’s such a closely guarded family secret that Beam would take a jug of yeast home every weekend for safe keeping. Over 85 years later his great-grandson maintains the same tradition.
People
Jim Beam has been crafted by the Beam family since 1795. Seven generations deep, Jim Beam’s great-grandson, Fred Noe, is now at helm distilling and ensuring that the aging process remains true to family values and tradition.
Place
For over 200 years Jim Beam has been distilled, barrel aged and bottled in Clermont, Kentucky. There's now an additional distillery, the Jim Beam's Booker Noe Distillery which is located Boston, Kentucky where distilling and ageing takes place.
