Jameson Caskmates IPA Edition Whiskey is lovely neat, but one whose natural synergy with beer makes it perfect for a boilermaker (a dram served and sipped alongside a chilled beer).
Process
For the Caskmates IPA Edition, once again Jameson teamed up with the Franciscan Well brewery (previously creating the Stout Edition). IPA beer was aged in whisky casks sent to the brewery, later returning to Jameson for the whisky to be finished.
People
Created in 1780 by John Jameson, this iconic Irish whisky was guided by John until his death at 83. Three more generations (John II, John III and John IV) led the distillery into the 20th century - upholding the family motto Sine Metu “Without Fear”.
Place
Jameson Irish Whiskey (Magnum size) is a blend of pot still and fine grain whiskeys. Aged at least 4 years, the whisky is matured in a combination of ex-sherry and ex-bourbon casks - adding spicy sweetness and a smooth sherry finish.
