Licis is the name of the tiny single plot in North West Spain where the grapes are grown and harvested to make this elegant red wine. Fragrant with raspberry, cherry, violets, lavender and dry roses on the nose. Extremely well-balanced displaying freshness and elegance with soft tannins that frame this wine beautifully. Franck believes all good wine starts in the vineyard and as such he devotes huge amounts of time to making sure the vines are in balance with the local ecosystem, employing organic viticulture and caring meticulously to ensure good biodiversity.
Winemaking
The wine-making consists of 10 days with gentle pumping, followed by gentle extraction which was achieved by maceration for 8 days. The wine was aged solely in steel tanks in contact with fine lees for 8 months and bottled in September 2009.
