Les Chaillets is a Condrieu that shows both impressive intensity and admirable focus, restraint and balance. The first impression is of honey and juicy pear, followed by nectarine and lemon zest. Full, rich and unctuous on the palate, it has a sprinkling of spicy new oak, as well as crystalline purity. It is gorgeous from release, and gains layers of richness over the following 2-3 years.

Winemaking
The grapes are hand-picked at full ripeness and carefully sorted before pressing. Fermentation, both alcoholic and malolactic, occurs in barriques using native yeasts. The wine then matures for nine months in the same barrels on its lees, without racking, and is regularly stirred to enhance texture and complexity.
