A great blended whisky, Chivas Regal 25 Year Old has a lot to offer and worth trying both neat and with a dash of water. That chocolate-y citrus note plays well in a swanky Old Fashioned too.
Process
There are two fundamental principles of blending according to James Chivas: ‘old, mature stocks and a distinct Speyside accent’. For this expression only the finest Scotch whiskies which have all been aged for at least 25 years are blended together.
People
James & John Chivas created their first blend Royal Glen Dee, in the 1850s after demand from customers who sought a smooth whisky from an upscale store where James worked. Little did they know this was the foundation of future Chivas Regal creations.
Place
Chivas Regal is made by the riverside at the Strathisla Distillery in Speyside, Scotland.
