The 2020 Mosconi is youthful, but this delicious vintage has a gentle, appealing character that enables the wine to be enjoyed now, although it also offers superb cellaring potential. With a deep ruby colour and terracotta rim, it is immediately expressive, with fantastic aromas of raspberry, black cherry, cedar, sandalwood, black liquorice, roast chestnut and fallen autumn leaves leaping from the glass. In the mouth, it's irresistibly plump, rounded and juicy, although this fleshiness conceals a firm structure of tight tannin and bright acidity. 98/100 - Red/ruby in color, the 2020 Barolo Mosconi is more red-fruited on the nose, with lifted freshness in its delicate spice of red raspberry, anise, dried roses, and dusty earth. It has a more linear feel, with ripe tannins, a chalky texture, and wonderful, pure notes of apricot on the finish. An absolutely gorgeous red, the 2020 vintage for Mosconi really shines and Chiara has knocked it out of the park.
