Winemaking
Alex Moreau's wines are consistently outstanding, thanks to his effective management of pickers, to ensure each vineyard parcel is picked at optimum ripeness. The must is allowed a brief maceration on the skins before pressing, and Alex allows long fermentations, which build layers of complexity in the wine. Barrel-ageing takes place on the lees.

The 2020 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Chenevottes wafts from the glass with aromas of pear, orange oil, lime zest, freshly baked bread and white flowers. Medium to full-bodied, layered and concentrated, it's elegant and fine-boned at only 13.1% alcohol, concluding with a long, saline finish.
